Golf Club Sierra de la Ventana
Situated in a wonderful residential neighborhood, known as “Barrio Parque Golf”, surrounded by chalets, you will find this wonderful golf course. The field is crossed by streams, hills and low ridges and other obstacles that challenge the players. National tournaments take place in this course. 18 holes, par 72, this is one of the most beautiful and picturesque golf courses of the country.

Balcón del Golf Cabañas-Resort (lodging near the golf course)

The complex has a privileged location in Barrio Parque Golf de Sierra de la Ventana, from where you get a wonderful view of the sierras. It is situated at a few meters from Sauce Grande River.

Tourism in the area
Casino
It is situated in the first floor of the Provincial Hotel. It counts with roulettes and baccarat.

Crafts Fair
The crafts are presented in two fairs, one situated in Roca Av. and the other in Sauce Grande Av. The tourist has the possibility of learning the handicraft art as some artisans open their ateliers for the general public.

Swimming
You can swim in several resorts situated over the margin of Sauce Grande River: El Dique, Los Angelitos and La Hoya resorts.

Trekking
Trekking drives the tourists to exotic places with beautiful panoramic views, waterfalls and other wonderful attractions. Trekking may be practiced by people of all ages and physical conditions.
All the area of the sierras, especially the area of the Provincial Park “Ernesto Tornquist” is suitable for trekking.

Long Walks
The air of the sierras and the wonderful landscapes are an invitation to practice this activity. There are lots of paths to walk through.

Water Sports

In the artificial water mirrors, you can practice sports such as motorboat racing, jet ski, water skiing or windsurf.

Cerro del Amor o Ceferino (the Mountain of Love or Ceferino Mountain)
A short smooth walk up to the top from where you get a beautiful panoramic view of the mountain town. There are group outings at night with torches.
The access is through Tornquist St., crossing the dike over Sauce Grande stream.

Villa Arcadia
Crossing a little bridge over the Sauce Grande stream, you get to Villa Arcadia, a residential area surrounded by little group of willows, making up an ideal place to camp.
At 400 m you will find the Villa Arcadia chapel, surrounded by a beautiful grove and country houses, making this village an excellent place to rest and relax.

Kooch Eco-Park
You don’t have to miss the opportunity to live the unique experience of being in total harmony with Nature. This Park counts with a variety of exotic and native animals, a square with rustic games for children, inflatable games, minigolf and Tyrolean crossing.
Besides, it counts with the restaurant El Palmar, with the best view to the lake and the mount Tres Picos.

Tourist Circuits
Mount De la Cruz
Leaving the urban area, you get a wonderful view of Mount Pillahuincó. Then you get to the Sauce Grande stream, with crystal-clear waters, from where you see the crest of Mount De la Cruz, several waterfalls and great caves.

Mount Tres Picos

This is the highest mount of the province. The ascent is relatively easy and you can do it in just one day. You can practice trekking, with a guide, from the south of the base camp through hillsides and summits.

Fuente del Bautismo (Baptism Fountain)
This is a waterfall over a fountain where, according to the tradition, the aborigine used to wash the newborn children.
It is a great rock hollowed out by a waterfall, which formed a great natural basin of crystal-clear waters where you may swim or fish trouts. This is a private property, so you need to have a permission to visit it.

Villa Ventana
Situated in a little valley of 9884 acres, framed by Las Piedras and Belisario streams, it has a thick afforestation made up by an important grove that surrounds the residential area.
Among the attractions this area presents, worth mentioning are the crafts workshops, tea houses, inns, hotels, resort and municipal campground, situated over one of the margins.
Here you will find the mount Tres Picos, the highest mount of Buenos Aires province (1239 masl).

Ernesto Tornquist Provincial Park

It comprises almost 17297 acres. The Park is placed among sierras, with its stunning landscape, with abundance of native vegetation.

Paso de las Piedras Dike

This is an ideal outing to border the great water mirror of the dam and get to know an area with an increasing tourist potential.
It has 12355 acres and it was built to supply with drinking water to Bahía Blanca and its area of influence. Motor boats are not allowed here but it is an ideal place for the practice of windsurf and sailing.
In the km 56 you will find the entrance to the Provincial Park Dique Paso de las Piedras. In km 61, turning to the right, you get to the Hostería del Lago, an inn situated in the highest point of the perimeter of the lake, a strategic place to enjoy the wonderful panoramic views.
Through km 19 you cross private fields where you will experience the wonderful charm of wild vegetation. At this point, a dirt track appears, heading for Abra de los Vascos with a beautiful view among the valleys.

Saldungaray
It is situated in direction to the south, crossing the bridge over the San Bernardo stream. In this little town, you may visit the Cumelcan center, situated in 560 Donado St. The center presents an interesting audiovisual presentation about the geography and geological history of the sierras.
In the parish church, you may visit the image of the Virgin reclining, carved in wood, a donation to the town by the founder, Pedro Saldungaray.

La Gruta Mountain Village

A picturesque place situated at 35 km from Sierra de la Ventana, over provincial route Nº 76, on the way to the city of Tornquist and at only 3 minutes from the area of the sierras.

Villa Ventana (Ventana Village)
You get to this town by provincial routes Nº 76 and 72, on the way to the city of Tornquist. It is a little rural village ideal to rest and get in contact with nature and peacefulness.

Tornquist
It is situated at the southeast of Buenos Aires province. You get to this place by national route Nº 33 and provincial route Nº 76. It has approx 7,000 inhabitants and presents picturesque boulevards, sports, educational and cultural centers.

Palacio Municipal (Town Palace)
It was built in 1938 by the civil engineer and architect Francisco Salamone, who adopted the art deco style.
The building is crowned by a 38 meter-high tower, with a clock designed with roman numerals.
The palace has been declared Municipal Historical and Cultural Heritage in April 1998.

Parish Church “Santa Rosa de Lima”

It is situated in the center of the square, being one of the few churches of the country placed in this way. It is entirely made of stone from the surroundings sierras, unique in the province. Inside the church, you will find religious paintings and the remains of the town’s founder, Ernesto Tornquist and of his wife, brought to the town in 1992.

Rodolfo Funke Theater

Built in 1921, its interior is decorated with palms and allegorical figures. It presents a wide stage, with beautiful curtains and the seats are covered with green corduroy.
It presents 6 interior cedar doors and the exterior doors are made of glass. It has a capacity of 300 people approx.
In the second floor, it presents a little museum with cultural objects of the town’s history.

Calvario (Calvary)
This is a work of religious exaltation. A portico, with an iron cross and two smaller lateral crosses, shows the entrance to a winding path over the slope of a hill, where, at 30 m, you will see the Stations of the Cross, made of pottery engravings which reproduce the different scenes of the Passion. At the end, there is a great white Cross and a figure of Christ crucified, representing the last Station. This place is situated at 2500 m from Tornquist.

Las Encadenadas Lagoon
This summer village has a sand beach. It counts with a campsite, houses to rent, boats to rent, a restaurant, a bocce court, a volleyball ground, a fishing breakwater and washrooms. It is situated at 25 km from Tornquist.
