San Carlos de Bariloche

San Carlos de Bariloche is a city in the province of Río Negro, in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, surrounded by lakes and mountains. It is well-known for skiing but also for sight-seeing, trekking, climbing and water sports. Cerro Catedral is one of the most important ski centers in South America visited by Argentineans as well as people from all Latin American countries.

The city is worth to visit in winter as well as in summer time. During the summer you can perform different activities, such as: rafting, hiking, mountain biking, horse-riding and fishing excursions. There are beautiful beaches, for example Playa Bonita and Villa Tacul, wher you can sunbathe or even swim in the lake, but the waters are very cold. In winter, the snow sports are a must in Cerro Catedral. There are lake excursions across the Nahuel Huapi that leads to marvellous spots, such as the Myrtle Forest and Victoria Island.Other tourist circuits include sites like Mount Tronador, Puerto Pañuelo, Puerto Blest, Los Alerces Cascade and Small Circuit.

There are other tourist spots to visit such as the Civic Center, the Cathedral, the five-star Llao Llao Hotel. The city is also famous for its chocolates.

San Martín de los Andes

San Martín de los Andes is located in the province of Neuquén, at the shores of Lake Lácar. It is a terrenal Garden of Eden, very peaceful and quiet, surrounded by rivers, mountains, waterfalls and forest. It is a mountain village and tourist resort that amazes visitors with its architecture of wood and stone.

There are many amenities, such as hotels, restaurants and recreations for all ages.
In wintertime, there are many winter activities at the Chapelco winter resort, one of the most picturesque in Patagonia, at a few kilometers from the city center. It is known worldwide and is very complete as regards skiing levels.

There are other activities that the city offers, for example fly-fishing and high hunting, paragliding at the cerro Chapelco and at ay time of the year you can get into land as well as lake tours.

There other fascinating excursions, such as the Seven Lakes circuit, Lanín Volcano, where you can practice climbing, Lake Meliquina and Filo Hua Hum, Lakes Currhué and the Lahuen Co hot springs and Lakes Paimún and Huechulafquen.

SIETE LAGOS - Road of the Seven Lakes

The Road of the Seven Lakes is a circuit in the provincial route 234 between San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura.

The circuit (which is 107 km long) crosses the Lanín and Nahuel Huapi national parks The seven most important lakes are: Machónico, Escondido, Correntoso, Espejo, Lácar, Falkner, Villarino.
You can make a tour round the circuit by bike. It may take you four days to enjoy the landscape.

Villa La Angostura

Villa La Angostura is situated in Neuquén, on the northwest shore of the Nahuel Huapi Lake. It is one of the main attractions of the Argentine Patagonia because of its wooden architecture and its breathtaking sights and its surroundings of rivers, lakes and forests.

There are shops and restaurants of typical craft products of the region such as chocolate, deer and trout.. Villa La Angostura is the epitome of Patagonian cuisine, with the best chefs and cooks. Its name is due to the isthmus or narrowness (angostura) of the Quetrihué Peninsula, where it is nestled. It lies 45 km. from the boundary with Chile, and 76 km from the Bariloche’s international airport. Villa La Angostura offers a wide variety of hotel accommodation and restaurants that suites everybody.

One of the main attractions is the Myrtle Forest, a natural relic in the area, which can be accessed on foot, by bike or on board of a catamaran that sails across the waters of Nahuel Huapi.

Villa La Angostura is one of the most preferred spots as regards sport fishing because it has a wide variety of environments.

There are many other activities to do: sailing, horseriding across the mountain, peaceful strolls, adventure.

Villa Traful

Villa Traful is situated in Neuquén, at the shore of the Traful Lake. It is inside the Nahuel Huapi National Park, on the road of the Seven Lakes, 60 km from Villa La Angostura and 100 km from Bariloche.

The town has about 80 houses is built along traditional Andine architecture lines, combination of wood and stone. It has some 300 inhabitants and a plan for tourist development. The ocal authorities and settlers just wan Traful to be in harmony with the landscape an free from contamination.

The name Traful comes from the Mapuche word "Travül", and means “union”, in reference to the confluence of the rivers Traful and Limay.

The usual tourist activities comprise sport fishing, trekking, horseback riding and mountaineering, but, as the town is inside a national park, fishing and mountaineering are allowed only with authorization.
